Who we are

Love Solar Ltd started trading in 2009

Since then we have installed over 1200 PV installations throughout Cumbria, North West England and South West of Scotland.
From our conception we have always had the same core values: the highest quality products, the highest quality of workmanship and the highest level of customer care.

Ewen

MD

The time-served and weary MD, some call him a one trick pony, some call him a lot worse. He’s been at the solar game for over 20 years and has captained the Love Solar ship for 15 years. He doesn’t get out of the office much these days, it has been said that he has gone soft and prefers sending emails to stripping slate… but that is just malicious gossip.

Ali

Office / Project Manager

Ali keeps the Love Solar ship on a steady keel. A great multi-tasker who can spin plates while juggling chainsaws, sending out quotes, organising scaffold and scheduling jobs. When Ali is not working with Love Solar, she is working on her small-holding, tending chickens, chopping trees and maintaining her garden.

Adrian

Technical Manager

Adrian is our qualified in-ship sparky. He did 6 years on South Georgia with the South Georgia Government. Adrian is as knowledgeable as he as amiable, a natural talent he perfected in the southern wilderness – you can’t not like Adrian.

Amanda

Accounts

Amanda is our money lady, and she keeps a very tight grip on the company’s finances. Be sure you are not a late-payer; otherwise, we will send her around.

Steph

Project Co-ordinator

Steph will look after you from enquiry to completion. When Steph is not dealing with DNOs or processing your MCS certificate she likes to lime-point her house and make repeated trips to the tip on her weekends.

Calvin

Surveyor

Calvin is one of the longest-serving members of the Love Solar team, joining the crew way back in the heady days of 2009. He left to become a Chartered Surveyor, but didn’t like the 9-to-5 lifestyle and returned to the safety and comfort of the Love Solar fold. Calvin is not a fan of working when it’s sunny and keeps a very respectful work – life balance.

Jon

Surveyor

Jon is the 2nd longest-serving inmate with Love Solar, but he too, like Calvin, enjoys his extended cycling holidays. Jon officially has the lowest Carbon Footprint of anyone in the company and would prefer to carry out a site survey on his bike than in a van. Nout wrong with that!

Hasty

PV Installer

Hasty, the man, the myth, the legend. A true alternative folk hero, there are songs sung and stories of his misadventure lamented in the bars of the Northern counties. Andy is forever chipper even in the worst of Cumbrian weather.

Matty

Technician

Matty is our in-house IT and battery whizz kid. He also is the heavy-lifter of the crew, a good job as those batteries are not light!

Darren

PV Installer

Darren is the cerebral one of the Love Solar crew and that’s because he one day will be a real life Lawyer. Darren works on the roofs by day, he studies Jurisprudence and Contract Law by night.

Tom

PV Installer

Tom has been with Love Solar since 2010. Not only is he our longest serving installer, but he is also our in-house carpenter and exhibition stand builder, as well as our wise voice of reason. When Tom is not fitting Solar, he is renovating the biggest barn conversion ever! 😉

John

PV Installer

John is not one for hanging about. If a job needs doing, he will do it well and quickly. John has a great work life balance and manages to squeeze in a minimum of 6 weeks snowboarding a year. Nout wrong with that, we are all just jealous.
