Solar PV Design & Installation Commercial Domestic Agricultrial

Who we are

Love Solar Ltd is a Cumbria-based Solar PV design and installation company dedicated to delivering quality, solar PV systems throughout the Eden Valley, Cumbria and North West.

Love Solar Ltd only uses the highest quality products installed by our own team of highly trained solar engineers. We do not adopt cost cutting or time saving techniques as we will be installing a PV system that will be generating electricity for the next 25 years.

Our customer care and service is second to none, we offer full customer support from initial enquiry to final system commissioning and beyond.

Love Solar Ltd is approved by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) and Gemserv and is fully recognized by the Energy Saving Trust (EST).

Meet the Love Solar team

Ewen James Estill MD

Ewen has installed and project managed hundreds of domestic and commercial solar PV systems the length and breadth of the UK. He has been at the helm of Love Solar Ltd since November 2009 but has been cutting his teeth in Solar PV industry for the last nine years. Originally qualifying from Aberdeen University in 2007 with a BSc in Tropical Environmental Sciences, he re-trained in renewable energy technologies at Solar Energy International, Colorado (http://www.solarenergy.org) in 2002. His time at Solar Energy International  has continued to inspire him ever since. Over the last nine years Ewen has worked as an employee for Wind & Sun, Solar Century and Sundog Energy and it is still one of his ambitions to apply his solar knowledge to applications in the developing world.

As Love Solar Ltd grows and our reputation and name for quality spreads, our fundamentals remain the same; the best solar products, the highest quality of installation, the most competitive prices, a happy team and, most importantly, happy customers. Ewen rarely takes a break but when he does he likes his tea with milk and no sugar.

John Bargett; PV site survey/ PV Quotes
Jon taught Agricultural Engineering at Newton Rigg, Penrith for 15 years before heading off on a 30,000 Km round trip to Mongolia and back with his wife Nicola. The reason for their epic journey ? ‘To see if it was there.’ Even before Jon had returned back to our shores we snagged him as our man.
A personable and canny engineer with practical approach to any problem that presents itself, Jon is our site survey and quote team. Jon has also been commissioned to convert the Love Solar vans and vehicles to run on recycled Veggie Oil. Mechanically and electrically there’s not much he cannot do.
He likes his coffee strong, white with one sugar.

Calvin Edmond Freed; PV Installation engineer/ Site manager
Calvin is a fully trained mechanical engineer and there isn’t much Calvin can’t fix or fettle. An experienced roofer and PV installer he is no stranger to working at heights; Calvin worked as a self employed tree surgeon for 10 years with the Eden Valley Tree Surgeons before making the transition into PV installation.Calvin worked for two years with Sundog Energy as a contract PV engineer but with the arrival of a new family member and the lure of high wages and exotic living Calvin jumped ship to come and work with Love Solar. He was more than happy to hang up his travel bag in order to keep it local, servicing Eden and Cumbria’s expanding PV market. Always cheery even in the harshest of weather, Calvin’s sunny disposition and level head makes him a valued member of the team. He likes his tea strong and black.

Richard Daken; West Morland Electrical Ltd
Richard of West Morland Electrical carries out all of Love Solar Ltd AC works in the Eden Valley and East Cumbria. We give all our customers the option of sourcing their own electricians but you will be hard pushed to find a more professional and affordable sparky anywhere. He is the Grand Master of the dark art of cable running. Richard doesn’t have time to drink tea.

Tom ‘Nice guy’ Francis
Tom is the muscle of the team. Half man, half bear, it has been said he can straighten horse shoes with his teeth. He is a very handy man to have around when it comes to getting 60lb inverters up ladders or wrestling gorillas. Despite his mass he is elfin in his lightfootedness on the tiles. Tom has recently come down from Galloway to join the team and has taken to PV installation with gusto and energy. A new yet valued member of the team. Tom likes his tea with biscuits.

Sarah Lawley – Senior Administrator / Sunshine Generator

Sarah is the Sunshine Generator for the Company creating rays of sunshine daily along with some Administration duties along the way. Sarah has previously worked in Leeds & Greece before settling back over the safety of the Cumbrian cattlegrid in the lovely town of Appleby.  Sarah likes to challenge herself whether it’s Cross country trail races or swimming events within the murky depths lakes and enjoys keeping the team amused and creating a happy working environment. Sarah prefers Cider but likes coffee with 1 sweetener and milk during working hours.
